Research
In my research, I examine small group discourses in undergraduate physics courses and instructional labs designed as non-traditional pedagogies. I employ qualitative methodologies to analyze discourses in order to gain insight into (in)equity centering around positioning, small group, gender, and other dynamics. I also engage in fine-grain analysis of the discourses in small groups to characterize student agency in knowledge-building (epistemic agency), their framing of disciplinary discourses. At the K-12 level, I analyze science teacher practice of intersectional identity responsive teaching.
