Internet Challenge:

Pose 3 challenge areas and a specific question for each to serve as a test of instructor's WebExplorer status. Post on board.
I will report back with the results on Tuesday! You will be presented with a similar challenge in a few weeks.

Here are my answers and mode of attack!

What colors are available for the 1997 Kawasaki model ZX-7 (American, not imported)?

Tried Kawaskai site at www.kawasaki.com.
- After wandering around a bit, I went to Ninja series page,
- to the ZX-7R page,
- and finally to the specs page.
- No listing of available colors! By browsing the photos, I can confirm the colors: lime green, wine red, cherry red, ...

Sent the following note to rec.motorcycles:

Can anyone tell me what colors will be available for the 1997 model? 
I checked the Kawasaki homepage but could not find a listing...

Yeah, there will be a green/purple (but it will have graphics on the       
lowers, in white and  purple...rest stays the same)
and an all-black ZX-7R for next year.    
The colors on the ZX-9R and ZX-6R, as well as the rest of the lineup,
are much more exciting. ...

What is the name of the smallest tribe in Africa?
What is their native language?
What style Nike sneaker does Michael Jordan prefer for the 1996 season?
- It's slightly unbelievable but the Nike website at www.nike.com has been closed for renovation.
- Wandered around the NBA site at www.nba.com just in case...
  - Checked out Michael Jordan's bio (no luck)
What is President Clinton's shoe size and ring finger size?
Where did the Clinton family get their cat "Sox"?
- Searching for "Clinton" and "Sox" yielded nothing; I realized that accepted spelling of the Clinton pet is "Socks"!

  On 11/10/96, after reading about Infoseek's new ability to respond to questions as search phrase, I tried "What is President Clinton's shoe size?"
  - The second link led me to Presidential Feets, an article about Johnson and Murphy, the shoemaker to the President.
  - From that page, I found Sizing up the Presidency, which listed the shoe sizes of many of the U.S. Presidents
- President Clinton's shoe size is 13C.

- In 1970-71, limit of curvature reduced from 1" to 0.5".

- finally to the NHL Official Rule Book
- Equipment, Rule 20 (Sticks) part b states that
  The curvature of the blade of the stick shall be restricted in such a way that the distance of a perpendicular line measured from a straight line draw from any point at the heel to the end of the blade to the point of maximum curvature shall not exceed one-half inch (1/2").
