In the circuit shown below, the 9.0 V battery is opposing the 1.5 V battery as they are positioned. You may consider the total voltage applied to the circuit by the two batteries as the difference in their stated values; that is, 7.5 V.

  1. What is the current flowing in the circuit?

  2. What is the voltage across the 50 ohm resistor?
    -- the power dissipated by it?

  3. What is the voltage across the 100 ohm resistor?
    -- the power dissipated by it?

  4. What is the total power dissipated by the resistors? (adding results of parts 2 and 3.)

  5. What is the power delivered by the 9.0 V battery?

  6. Can you account for the missing power?
