Special Assignment #2 on Capacitance

a. Find an expression for the capacitance per unit length of the twinax cable shown. Your answer should be expressed in pF/m.

This cable consists of two long, parallel conductors (radius 0.50 mm), separated by a distance of 8.0 mm by polyethylene dielectric (2.25). You may suppress the presence of the dielectric in your analysis until we complete our investigation of dielectric materials.

This cable is known as twinax and was commonly seen as the lead-in transmission line for television antennas before the advent of "cable."
