MPEG-2 Technology

The DSS uses a descrambler to decode the digital feed from the DSS Dish. These signals are encoded in MPEG-2 format; the highest compression ratio that will still give clear, crisp pictures. They have a compression rate of 30:1 bits, so this increases the clarity and speed even more. Making it faster and clearer than some Cable TV broadcasts.
