Nuclear Physics

The focus of the research has been in the area of nuclear structure theory. Particularly recognized is work on the role of the proton-neutron interaction in producing nuclear deformation throughout the periodic table. Recently, efforts have focused on the role of nuclear physics in probing issues of fundamental importance in particle physics and astrophysics and on the development of methods to treat exotic nuclei far from the valley of beta stability.
