Condensed Matter Seminar Abstract

Date: April 8th (215 Conference Room Sharp Lab at 2:00pm)

Speaker: Humphrey Maris, Brown University

Title: Experiments with Electrons in Superfluid Helium

Abstract:

In this talk we will describe experiment in which we monitor the
motion of individual electrons in liquid helium. We will describe the
details of the experiments and show the results that have been
obtained. When the helium is in the superfluid state, the recorded
track of an electron can be used to provide an image of the geometry of
quantized vortices.
