Fields of Research

Condensed matter experimental physics, including cw and picosecond laser spectroscopy; Current interest is focused on photonic band structure measurements, particularly in colloidal crystals, dielectric stacks, and other model systems. Science education reform efforts based primarily on problem-based learning and information technology. Current funded activities include development of PBL curricula for physics and reform of science and math education in Perú.
