Fields of Research

Since joining Bartol, he has been involved in designing and building of various radiation detectors used in balloon-borne and ground-based experiments. The resulting measurements from these experiments are used to study the spectrum and composition of cosmic rays, and to characterize the large-scale structures of the geomagnetic field and heliosphere. He is also interested in the modeling of particle cascades developed from cosmic ray interactions in the Earth’s atmosphere. This work allows the ability to determine the expected particle flux/ radiation levels at different altitudes, geographical locations and during different times of the solar cycle (different primary spectra shapes).
