Credit by Exam

Some students have sufficient experience or study in a subject area to be given credit for a course "by exam" only. The Department of Physics and Astronomy provides the opportunity to obtain credit for all 200 level physics courses by taking an exam. Credit-by-exam may not be invoked for courses that a student has previously enrolled for at the University of Delaware, including the status of "audit" or "withdrawal". Prior to taking the exam, students must complete the credit-by-examination form (available at the Student Services Building) and submit payment. If a student does not pass the exam, the grade is not reflected on the student's transcript.
